Christmas is festive —even at Post Office

Janet Jannsen enjoys her postal decorations.

Most folks get enough of work at work and don’t want to “take work home” with them. Not true for Janet Jannsen, Officer in Charge at the Lime Springs Post Office. She welcomes reminders of work in her collection of postal ornaments and decorations.

“I like postal stuff. I mostly have Christmas items because that’s mostly what they sell, but I’ve collected some and gotten many as gifts,” Jannsen said.

Yes Virginia, Santa has snow for Christmas

Gaylord Borgan uses his snow blower to clear off his driveway.

Everyone seems to have survived the first big snow storm of the winter. Predictions of large amounts of snow and blowing winds scared most folks off the roads on December 9, which is surprising because usually the roads are full of sight-see-ers.
