The most important part of Hope’s life was her relationship with her God and her family. She cared deeply about the people in her life and shared an abundance of love with family, extended family and friends. Her greatest joy was being in the presence of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Hope and her husband, John, created the “Souhrada Wildlife Preserve” near Davis Corners. One of her missions in life was to improve understanding of Native American culture, as well as to improve conditions and education for Native American citizens. This started the relationship between Immanuel Lutheran and the Pine Ridge Ministries which continues today.

She is survived by her daughter, Janel Stephens and son Dave (Cherie); four granddaughters, Susan (Paul) Callaway, Sara (Bill) Kotrba, Robin (Dave Rogers) Souhrada and Emilie (Jon Chamberlain) Souhrada; and one grandson, Jim Souhrada and Brenda Souhrada.
