Meet the teacher: Hemann

Mrs. Jennifer Hemann

Mrs. Jennifer Hemann is another new face at Lime Springs-Chester Elementary. She lives with her husband, Jake in Osage.

At the University of Northern Iowa, Hemann received her degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.

She stated, “This is my first teaching position. I graduated in December and substitute taught in Osage and Rockford. I have also worked at Four Oaks (residential treatment center for behavior/emotionally challenged children) and Sylvan Learning Center in Mason City.”

She says she has never really considered any other career options. “I always just knew I wanted to be a teacher. I love seeing things start clicking for students and having them make connections from what they’re learning to their own lives.”

At LS-C she is happy about how willing the staff and families are to help out their teachers and school.

When she’s not at school, Hemann likes to spend time with her siblings, niece and nephews, camp, bake and make crafts.

And what does she think of her first position at LS-C? “I love it! The staff, kids and families have all been wonderful!” She does hope to make more community connections in the future.
