Howard Comm. Found. pushes up grant deadline

The grant application deadline for the Howard Community Foundation’s 2012 granting cycle is February 1. Grants may be awarded in the following areas:

Arts & Culture

Community Affairs & Development


Environmental Education & Protection


Historical Preservation

Human Services

Youth Programs

Completed applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2012 to be considered for funding. The application materials are available at the Cresco Library, Lime Springs Library, Elma Library and Riceville Library and online at . Grants are awarded in April.

Eligible applicants must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; a governmental body (school, city, county) or a charitable project with a qualified fiscal sponsor.

The deadline is earlier than in years past to accommodate early spring and summer projects.

The Howard Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, has been created by and for the people of Howard County.

The Community Foundation’s main goals are to support charitable projects and programs in Howard County and to attract additional funds to assist donors in creating lasting legacies through a variety of giving options within Howard County.
