Save labels, milk caps for kids

Lime Springs-Chester Elementary School’ Parents And Teachers Together (PATT) group has been collecting labels and milk tops and turning them in for CA$H for awhile. This is just a reminder that everyone can help make money for classroom supplies and books by saving those items also.

The group is collecting:

Box Tops for Education — Cut out the coupon on participating items from products like Betty Crocker, Cheerios, Green Giant, Pillsbury, Totino’s and Yoplait, to name a few.

You can also go to boxtops4education.com and click on “Earn” and then “Marketplace” where you can get points for shopping online at stores such as Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Cabela’s, Old Navy, Target and Walmart.

Shop through the “Marketplace” mentioned above on hotels.com or Hotwire and earn points.

Labels for Education – Cut out at least 51 percent of the UPC code with the coupon to earn points. Items where the coupon can be found include Bic, Campbell’s, Post cereals and treats, V-8 and Swanson.

Milk caps — Milk Moolah from Kwik Trip and Kemps milk caps are worth five cents each for the school.

So, even if you can’t afford to donate cold hard cash, why not put a container on your kitchen counter to toss the milk caps and labels into for easy storage. Then, a couple times a year, drop them at the school or C US Bank-Lime Springs branch.

Don’t forget to wash the caps and cut out the coupons. If they are not cut, local volunteers have to do it, which can be very time consuming. And, if they don’t have to cut out the coupons, they will have more time to volunteer elsewhere in the community.
