Joseph ‘Joe’ W. Albert, 58, LS

Joseph ‘Joe’ W. Albert, age 58 of Lime Springs, Iowa died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at his home in Lime Springs. Funeral services were held Nov. 2, at the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs with Pastor Candraeah Carey officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lime Springs.

Joe was born April 28, 1954 in Cresco, Iowa, the son of Lorraine and Tressa (Tibbals) Albert. He graduated from Crestwood High School in 1972, and then went to Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa on a football scholarship. He worked for over 25 years as a forklift operator for Sara Lee in New Hampton. He was an avid football fan who enjoyed all the teams. Joe also enjoyed being with his family, especially the nieces and nephews and always hosted the family Christmas gatherings. He was a dedicated son, helping his mother out in her home and spending a lot of time visiting her since she moved to the nursing home. Joe was a lifelong member of the Lime Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking at home and eating out.

Joe is survived by his mother, Tressa Albert of Cresco; three siblings, Linda (Jim) Belken of Alden, Iowa, Pat (Larry) Houdek of Cresco and John Albert of Lime Springs; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father.

Casketbearers were Mark Stevenson, David Houdek, Matt Albert, Roger Sinning, Ted Roberts and Jeff Wendell.
