Oneota Club representative Jeanette Burns presented checks to three Lime Springs organizations during Christmas in Lime Springs on Dec. 2. She explained the group was sorry it could only award three grants, even though there were 11 applications.

Since 2006, the Oneota Study Club has held Dad’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast during Sweet Corn Days. The profits have been given back to the community. This year, the group exceeded the $6,000 mark in donations!

The recipients for 2012 were:

• Lidtke Mill Historical Site—$500 to assist with the purchase of support beams;

• Lime Springs Public Library—$250 to assist with computer software updates; and

• Lime Springs Swimming Pool—$250 to assist with the swimming pool leak.

She concluded by saying, “Without the support of the community and visitors during Sweet Corn Days, we would not be able to support our local organizations. So we thank all of you who attend our waffle breakfast and support our organization!”
