While most youth in the area enjoyed their Christmas vacation by sleeping in and playing games, 16 of their counterparts spent some of that time memorizing lines and attending play practice all in readiness of this weekend’s production of “Charlotte’s Web.”

The talented group of kids will be performing the children’s classic on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This time there will only be one matinee, on Thursday at 1:30, which the local elementary school will also be attending. The other performances will be on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. The play is again being held at Lime Springs United Methodist Church.

The play is based on the children’s novel by American author E. B. White. It was published in 1952. The play was written by Joseph Robinette.

As has become a recent tradition, water and popcorn will be sold before the performance, and there will be activities for the children in the audience to participate in during intermission.

To get the best deal, tickets are available before the Thursday matinee for $5.00. They will be $6.00 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any cast member or at Lime Springs Public Library.

Directors are Sally Godwin, Rita Roberts and Janet DeVries.
