Comedy show successful

Not all bills were yet in, but the event raised over $700 for the community service club. Members figured they would probably do it again next year.

About 136 tickets were sold for the dinner and show. Some changes may be to raise the cost of tickets and/or have tickets available for the show only.

An addition to the usual itinerary this year is a Fun Run/Walk that will take place on June 8. Newly-elected club president Brooke Cray is chairing the event. To sign up early, register at

Those paying their fee will get an event t-shirt and goodie bag.

Another new item is having a button. Students at Lime Springs-Chester Elementary will submit designs. The winner will receive a prize when chosen. A Bean Bag Tournament is also planned.

Cray Insurance is sponsoring the old-fashioned ice cream social in recognition of its 100th year in business.

The club’s current project is to update the park shelter.

The group will hold meetings more frequently before the town’s celebration. They will all be held at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on April 30 and May 14, 21 and 28. The more the merrier, so plan to attend and help!
