Register for H-W classes Aug. 5-6

The playgrounds and halls at area schools have been quiet for a couple months but get ready! The first day of school at Howard-Winneshiek, Aug. 22, is sneaking up on students, parents and teachers. Before classes begin, students need to be registered.

If you got busy and forgot or are new to the district, students can be registered in person on Monday, Aug. 5. Cresco students can be signed-in at the respective schools from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Lime Springs-Chester and Elma Elementary on Aug. 5 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. and Aug. 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Preschoolers can still register as well. To get more information call LS-C at 563-566-2221, Elma at 641-393-2280 or Cresco at 563-547-2300.

Notre Dame Preschool is two half-day sessions, also on every day except Wednesday from 8:15-11:30 a.m. or 12:15-3:15 p.m.

Bus drivers will be contacting families regarding when students will be picked up and dropped off each day. If the driver has not contacted you by Aug. 19, call the bus garage at 563-566-2341.

Word has already made it through the ranks that 7-12 students will be able to pick up their computers on Wed. Aug. 21. The computers will be distributed to seventh and eighth graders at 5:30 p.m., and high schoolers will receive theirs at 6:30. At 6:00 a 7-12 picnic is planned.
