Lime Springs, Chester council seats up for grabs

Anyone wishing to be part of decisions made for the cities of Lime Springs or Chester can get papers to run in the November election. Papers can be picked up at Lime Springs City Hall, from Chester Clerk Pam Wendel, at Howard County Auditor’s office or downloaded from sos.iowa.gov (look under elections, candidates, election information).

Lime Springs has three council (Kevin Bill, Corey Gates and Gary Klomp) up for election, along with mayor (Barb Robinson)

Chester has two seats up (Clint Fousek and Becky Fritcher).

All candidates need a minimum of 10 (more is suggested) signatures. Anyone signing must be a resident of the city and proper information must be given, including full name and street address.

The forms must be turned in at the appropriate city hall from Aug. 26 until 5 p.m. on Sept. 19.
