Absentee voting has begun for city elections

The Howard County Auditor’s Office now has ballots available for absentee voting for the city elections on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.

You may submit absentee requests for mailing ballots at anytime.

Any voter wishing to vote absentee may come into the Howard County Auditor’s Office and vote absentee during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or you can request a ballot to be mailed to you by filling out a request form and sending it to the Howard County Auditor’s Office, 137 N. Elm St,, Cresco, IA 52136. These request forms may be obtained from the Auditor’s Office or you can download them from the Howard County website: http://www.co.howard.ia.us or from the Iowa Secretary of State’s website: http://www.sos.state.ia.us

All absentee ballot requests, to be mailed out, must be submitted to the Howard County Auditor’s office by 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 1.

The deadline to vote in the Auditor’s office is Nov. 4, until 5 p.m. with the exception that if the polls open at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on election day, voter’s may vote by absentee ballot in person at the auditor’s office until 11 a.m.
