Oneota grants given at festival

The Oneota Club gave away another $1,000 worth of grants during Christmas in Lime Springs. The grants are funded yearly from proceeds of the Dad’s Belgium Waffle Breakfast during Sweet Corn Days. The club has been having the breakfast since 2006.

Options to be presented to H-W school board

Supt. John Carver will be making a recommendation to the Howard-Winneshiek School Board at the Dec. 9 board meeting regarding the various centers in the district. Everyone is invited to attend the meeting to be held at 7 p.m. at Crestwood High School.

Mennonite singers, Dec. 8

The congregation of the Lime Springs Mennonite Church is inviting the public to a Christmas festival of singing and fellowship. The third annual event is being held at the church on Sunday, Dec. 8. Various groups will sing from 4-8 p.m. Refreshments are available all afternoon and evening. Join your neighbors for this come and go event.

First Christmas giveaway winners drawn this week

The first winners in the Lime Springs-Chester Christmas Gift Giveaway have been announced. The three names drawn this week are Craig Niewoehner, Elsbeth Richter and Jim Hrubes, all of Lime Springs.
