First Baby of Year Contest

Traditions are wonderful things. Here at the Lime Springs Herald, some of our favorite traditions are putting kindergartner’s Thanksgiving recipes in the paper and their letters to Santa.

Another fun tradition is helping local businesses give away goodies to the lucky family who has the first baby of the year! It’s a great way to welcome the area’s newest resident into the community.

Parents who are expecting very near the beginning of 2014 may be eligible to win prizes donated by local merchants. Who will the lucky parents be? Will it be a boy? Will it be a girl? No one knows, but one thing’s for certain: The lucky first baby of 2014 will receive a warm welcome with a variety of prizes donated by area merchants.

To claim the honor of the Lime Springs Herald’s “Firstborn of 2014” contest:

1. The baby must be born after 12:00 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2014.

2. The baby’s parents must live in or near the Lime Springs-Chester Elementary School district.

3. Entry void if baby has won in another 2014 Evans PPC Baby Contest.

4. The birth must be reported to the Herald within three working days after the birth.

5. Contest void if no entries by Feb. 28, 2014.
