Boil order affects business

The boil order/advisory last week was inconvenient for residents, but more so for restaurants. The Dam Bar resorted to using paper plates and plastic glasses. Vickie Ator of KCDs used bottled water. “Cresco was nearly out of gallons of water when I got there.” She found some and said she was okay after that.

Barbie Hoglan, manager of Lime Springs Travel Plaza, shut down the entire kitchen. “We had no pizza, fountain pops, coffee, cappuccino or bathrooms.” The business even had to throw some food away due to expiration dates.

She added, “You know you serve the community, but when you can’t, you find out how important you really are to the community.”
