His family purchased a farm south of LeRoy, Minn. and that is where his father passed away suddenly in 1940. Donald continued to farm and support his mother. He met and married Lois Heins in 1947. Family and friends will miss his life lessons, his humor, his hobbies, his collections, conversations about cars, roadtrips, his stories and going to coffee with him. His Norwegian friends will miss going to lutefisk church dinners with him. They will also miss his ever encouraging favorite phrase “hang in there.”
