When it rains, it pours, or so the saying goes. That seems to the truth in Lime Springs as residents are experiencing an abundance of construction.

• Lidtke Park is closed this year and is slowly being updated.

• Howard County Engineer Nick Rissman said Lidtke Bridge is still on schedule. “A couple weeks of high water set it behind a little, but it should be completed in a couple months (September/October).”

• The Granger Road (A-23 going from Lime Springs to Cresco) will tentatively be closed, staring Aug. 4. Rissman explained, “Letters had been sent out last week to landowners along the road, then the contractor pushed the start date back one week.”

County employees were going to be knocking on doors along the route to let owners know of the change.

• Other construction is Highway 9, a state road, from Davis Corners to Riceville and from east of Cresco to Ridgeway. The road will not close, but will have a pilot car on one lane during the day.
