HCCF grants begin

Howard County – Grant applications can be submitted to the Howard County Community Foundation for its 2015 grant cycle beginning on Dec. 1, 2014. The deadline to submit applications is midnight (CST) Jan. 31, 2015. Grants are awarded to projects in the following areas: art and culture, community betterment, education, environment, health, historic preservation and human service.

The online grant application may be found on the Community Foundation’s website at http://www.howardccf.org. Grants recipients will be announced in April 2015. Again, completed applications must be submitted no later than midnight Jan. 31, 2015 to be considered for funding.

In preparation for the new funding cycle, a workshop will be presented for potential applicants, which will last approximately one hour. At the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to view the electronic application, to see a “hands-on” demonstration of its completion and have specific questions answered. The workshop will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. at Lime Springs Community Center.

First-time grant applicants should plan to attend this workshop or contact Dotti Thompson, Program Manager, at 319-287-9106 ext. 18 prior to submitting an application. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization (or government entity) serving Howard County in order to be considered for funding.
